Dirt 3 wont launch from steam - how to fix

Create Microsoft Xbox Live Account here https://live.xbox.com

Login in game using Live Account details. Check all three boxes so it logs you in automatically next time.

You may get a firewall message behind the dirt3 popup window or in the background if fullscreen, this will prevent the game running certain features, you can press the windows key or ALT + Tab to go to windowed mode to see the firewall popup, check the boxes to allow and click allow access. Then go back to the game, click your mouse on the window and press ALT + Enter to go back to full screen.

Enter serial number to activate the game (Steam will show you in bottom right corner)

You will be told an update is available, apply the update, you will need to close dirt 3 after its done, do this by pressing ALT + F or ALT + Tab then pressing the X in the corner of the window, you will then see the update will continue in the background. Once its finished re-launch dirt 3.
