As the Vesaro Installation Team prepares for the first US F1 Arcade installation, work continues in the background.
Washington V-Zero units are stacking fast, multiple new designs and R&D projects are occurring simultaneously, and Vesaro continues to produce a vast array of bespoke Racing & Flight Simulators for our Private and Commercial customers.
We may go a little quiet as all departments are occupied with their daily tasks, and a large Installation Team is deployed to Boston to carry out the most logistically challenging install we have faced to date. However, we will try to remain active on our main channels, where we will continue to post updates of our past, present and future projects.
Over the course of the last 6 years, we have delivered on several large projects. Whether these were large in scale in terms of the volume of simulators produced or the significance of the project, each were a notable moment in Vesaro’s story.
McLaren Automotive
The McLaren Series of Simulators was a huge milestone in Vesaro’s journey.
This license agreement saw us working with McLaren Automotive to bring Vesaro Racing Simulators with a McLaren edge, reminiscent to those who are passionate McLaren fans.
The same seats and wheel that could be found across various McLaren models, including the P1, were adapted to be functionally incorporated onto our simulators.
We had fans from across the world, including Los Angeles and the UAE take pride in the luxurious quality and high refinement of these systems.
We worked with industry pioneers such as Chris Goodwin, the former McLaren Automotive Chief Test Driver to dial in our systems to best represent the attitude and charisma of a McLaren supercar. You can watch the video that documented this process here:
We attended several McLaren Pure events during our time with McLaren, enabling us to showcase one of our models to McLaren enthusiasts in the pits between their sessions out on track. These were a fantastic opportunity for us to meet prospective customers and for us to enjoy the excitement around the practices and races. For many, our simulator being present on the day served as a great tool that they could use to practice the same track and car, prior to their next real life session. Some of the guests were visiting the track for the first time, with no prior experience learned from any simulator, showcasing how powerful and invaluable a professional-tier simulator can be, such as any of the simulators we currently offer on our website.
During this time, we recognised the value in investing in a McLaren supercar of our own that we could use to further build and refine our understanding of how their vehicles react to user inputs, that could be incorporated and refined onto our systems.
We opted for a McLaren 540C that saw lots of use throughout our ownership, including out on the world renowned Nordschleife, providing real-time 1:1 feedback that gave us deep and direct insight into how a McLaren supercar itself specifically would feel on our go-to test track, making the experience a perfect reference model.
The entire project was a great opportunity for us to elevate the quality of many areas of our operations and content output, learning from a fellow British company who have been producing exquisite vehicles and technology since 1963.
aramco
aramco was a surprise project that had an extremely tight deadline for the amount of systems that were requested.
2 Vesaro V100 Racing Simulators with custom aramco vinyl wraps, 4 Vesaro Commercial Stage 2 Racing Simulators with custom aramco branding & 24 Vesaro Gaming Stations was the order.
There were to be 4 activations in 4 different prominent Malls across the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, to hype and celebrate the first Formula Grand Prix held in the KSA at Jeddah over the period of 4 weeks.
The Vesaro Team were able to deliver on the project in time, completing 30 systems in total.
After shipping, these were met by our Team at each of their 4 respective locations – 2 Teams in Jeddah, 1 Team in Riyad and 1 Team in Dammam.
An early delivery was met and installation was carried out of 1 Vesaro Commercial Stage 2 Racing Simulator and 6 Vesaro Gaming Stations at each of the 4 locations, over the course of several days in close conjunction with the stand builders the event organisers, Momentum.
After a successful 2 weeks of the Teams remaining on standby in the event that any support was required, it was time for the 4 Teams to reconvene together in Jeddah.
The highlights of the entire activation were to be installed in aramco’s booth trackside – 2 Vesaro V100s with custom aramco branding.
After installation was carried out, the 4 Team members remained on standby for the duration of the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix of 2021, Assisting where needed but ultimately ensuring that the systems were operating smoothly – this was received extremely well by the visitors, including VIPs and was ultimately a phenomenal success.
A highlight showcase of the event can be viewed on our YouTube Channel below:
Razer
The Razer prototype project was another exciting concept with an incredibly tight deadline.
Razer were looking to offer an interactive and engaging activation as the centrepiece of their booth at CES 2020, and the CEO, Min-Liang Tan, cherry picked our system to be the foundation.
We instantly got to work by designing custom elements and producing renders for our proposal. Below is one of the many different designs we produced:
With just a month to design, manufacture, assemble, configure and ship the entire concept, we produced a Vesaro I Stage 2 Racing Simulator with custom Razer branding, and a contingency display solution.
After an intense installation where all of the different elements had to come together in alignment with the stand builder’s schedule, the concept had been realised.
Our Vesaro I Stage 2 with custom Razer branding served the role as the simulator. The screen solution was provided by SimPit Technologies, a custom dome setup utilising 2 projectors that displayed onto a bespoke made screen material, offering deep blacks and low screen glare. The audio was provided by THX, owned by Razer. 2 of the 4 speakers can be seen in the image above, and you can hopefully appreciate how loud yet immersive of an experience these provided sonically.
The 3 key elements combined together made for a highly interactive, engaging and compelling sim racing experience, that many tech leaders and stakeholders from across the world had the opportunity to enjoy.
CES 2020 was a great success all round, garnering substantial attention both at the event and online.
We had special guest visitors too, including 2 of the most prominent individuals in the tech space on YouTube, including Marques Brownlee (MKBHD) & Justine Ezarik (iJustine).
The F1 Arcade project warrants its own string of posts, as it has demanded its own division at Vesaro to facilitate its ever growing scale.
Be sure to look out for our posts where we provide deeper insight into this momentous project.
ADAC Sim Racing Expo
Since 2018 we have attended 3 ADAC Sim Racing Expo events – 2018, 2019 and 2022.
These too deserve their own dedicated posts as they were very significant moments in those years for us, so be sure to stay active on this page and our other social platforms, where we will be updating our activities.
Conclusion
The past 6 years have been filled with interesting projects and experiences.
Those mentioned above are just a handful of the many that we have been involved in.
As 2024 begins, we are already planning projects that will elevate Vesaro to heights that have not been seen in the Sim Racing industry.
